Dynamic Ease
During last night’s class, we focused on Dynamic Ease, which is the ability to move with the most amount of efficiency and the least amount of effort. We played with the extremes of exagerrated, forceful, masculine (dynamic) movement and relaxed, feminine (ease) movement–and somewhere in the midst of class, each of us discovered for ourselves, the dynamic ease that was unique to each of our bodies, in each movement. Students commented on how they were able to notice the tension they held in their bodies, even in while playing with relaxation; this increased their awareness of how to let go and move in more efficient ways.
